Orbis Syrian Visit

For the third year running, ALPHA had the pleasure of sponsoring ORBIS' Flying Eye Hospital annual visit to Syria during May 2009. ORBIS INTERNATIONAL is a non-for-profit international organization dedicated to prevention of blindness and the treatment of blinding eye diseases in developing countries.
This year ORBIS' Flying Eye Hospital landed in Deir El Zor International Airport, and was welcomed by Deir El Zor's mayor and health chief. Dr. Rida Saed, Syria's Minister of Health, who regularly plays a vital role in ORBIS Syrian program, also visited the program this year.
ALPHA thanks Dr. Hunter and his team as well all local Syrian Ophthalmologists for all their valuable efforts and hard work in the prevention and treatment for blindness.
